OAT FREE Flapjacks
A NEW recipe this week so hopefully everyone will enjoy it! It is JAM PACKED with superfoods, giving you anti-oxidents, loads of vitamins, minerals and a bit of the sweet stuff in the form of Dark Chocolate!
Dried apricots - contain a great many micro nutrients such as calcium, potassium, phsophorus, vitamin A and C as well as Iron. They help to improve digestion and treat constipation, regulate heartburn, control high blood pressure and help rebuild muscle after training.
Dried mango - contains vitamin A and Iron and is a good source of readily available carbs because of the amount of sugar.
Pumpkin seeds - these little fellows are packed with stuff: Vitamin K, Phosphorous, Manganese, Magnesium, Iron, Zinc, Copper to name but a few. They also contain lots of antioxidants and a decent amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids, potassium, vitamin B2 (riboflavin) and folate.
Desiccated coconut and Coconut Oil - does a whole host of things for you; helps increase good cholesterol and reduce bad cholesterol, reduces the risk of heart disease and promotes heart health, protects the liver, boosts the immune system, helps improve memory and brain function, improves energy levels and endurance and improves type 2 diabetes.
