Healthy Snack for STRONG BODY Training Session and GIVEAWAY - 9/6/18

Chewy Almond and Apricot Flapjack

(nut free version available, just ask)

Ingredients:

Coconut oil

Muscovado sugar

Peanut butter

Apple

Porridge oats

Brown rice flour

Almonds

Sunflower seeds

Dried apricots

  • 7g fat (1/2 good fats!!)

  • 14g carbs

  • 7g sugars

  • 1.75g fibre

  • 2.1g protein

So what do these Flapjack bites give you? Well quite a lot actually:

  • Coconut oil - does a whole host of things for you; helps increase good cholesterol and reduce bad cholesterol, reduces the risk of heart disease and promotes heart health, protects the liver, boosts the immune system, helps improve memory and brain function, improves energy levels and endurance and improves type 2 diabetes. It quite brilliant!

  • Peanut butter - contains healthy fats and fibre, calcium, vitamin E and magnesium.

  • Muscovado Sugar - This isn't any better for you than normal refined sugar however it is less processed and still as all the natural qualities such as molasses which is beneficial but only in higher amounts.

  • Almonds - this nut themselves contain healthy fats, a great list of micro nutrients and are a good source of protein.

  • Oats - contains a great range of vitamins and minerals: vitamin B1 and 5, folate, zinc, iron, copper, magnesium, manganese and phosphorous. Helps lower cholesterol, improve blood sugar control and aids weight loss as it is filling.

  • Apple - Extremely rich in important vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, flavanoids, and dietary fiber. May help reduce the risk of developing cancer, hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease as well as aid weight loss.

  • Brown Rice Flour - is a wholegrain which is gluten free. It is a slow release carb which helps you stay fuller for longer as well as providing energy over a longer period of time and also can help aid weight loss. It contains magnesium and manganese which help with heart health and digestion respectively.

  • Sunflower Seeds - These little beauties are packed to the seams with benefits. They can help improve cholesterol levels, support good bone health, control blood sugar, promote good mood and healthy sleep as well aid weight loss and being rich in protein.
