How are your NEW YEAR goals going? Good? Or not so good?
It has been a weird start to the year, my birthday fell on the first day back at work this year, I was working and my partner was on call so we celebrated on the Thursday and then my parents came down, so more celebrations ensued. I ended up a birthday week which I haven't had before but it meant it took me two weeks to get into the NEW YEAR flow and get to grips with my goals and to start working towards them.
Now its 24th January and I still don't feel like I have fully got into the flow of the NEW YEAR. There have been a lot of things going on at work and I feel like I have let myself get away with not training or eating right. Then blaming the work situation instead of taking charge of my own choices. I have the power to make changes in my life and I have the power to make the decisions in my life but I need to refocus and start doing that again.
I'm not very good at waiting games and I would like this one to be over so I can move forward. I know that sounds defeatist but I need to know all the information before I can make a decision and I am having to wait for the information which is frustrating.
What do you do in that situation?
I would recommend finding things to keep you busy until you have all the information because there isn't anything you can do until you do have it all.
You can try and make plans or talk about it but if you don't have the full picture just try and reserve judgement until you do.
It is hard to do but trust me, I've been there, it is the best thing to do.
If you have goals you want to achieve this year but something is holding you back or keeping you in limbo, then refocus on your goals and put your energy into them instead of getting stressed.
